Weekly Scrapbook Challenge #3

This week my challenge for you is to use 3 or more photos on your layout. For some people this will be easy peasy, but for others it may be more difficult. I had fun putting mine together:

I think I'm going to start heading back to my scrapbooking roots. I love clean and simple layouts, like this one - that's how I started scrapping and it's what I did for a long time. They're nice and easy on the eyes, they come together quickly, and they're easy on my pocketbook. 3 major pluses!! So I think I'll be doing more of these types of layouts and save all of my elaborate details for my cards. After all, I scrapbook to document the story, not the latest fashion in embelishments. ;)

If you choose to play along, please link it up here so we can all see your work. If anyone ever does start playing along I'll start giving away goodies, hehehe. Happy scrapping!

Seeing RED

It has been quite some time since I played along with any of The Greeting Farm challenges, but this week's Wild Card Wednesday challenge seemed right up my alley! {Red} is my favorite color (followed closely by yellow) so it was fun to make a very red card:

The challenge was to be inspired by "redwork", which apparantly is a form of needlepoint using red cotton thread. I couldn't find my DMC floss ANYWHERE so I had to use my sewing machine. I really like how it turned out. :)

Thanks for stopping by - come back tomorrow for my weekly scrapbook challenge!

Quick and easy Valentines for kids

Some friends of ours are having a Valentine's brunch on the 13th, and all the kids will be exchanging Valentines there. My two little ones were so excited to help mommy craft, and they were such good helpers! Since we had to make a dozen for each, I opted for a quick, cute layout:

All the products for these Valentines are from Stampin' Up. I think they're pretty self explanatory, but if anyone wants step-by-step by step instructions with a list of the specific products used, just leave me a comment and I'll edit the post. :) Thanks!

A special post for a rockin' lady

There is nothing that I love better than "crafting for a cause". It makes me feel so good to know that my passion and creativity is being put to good use.

Katie at Paper Makeup Stamps let us all know that she is releasing some very special digi stamps as charity stamps today. All proceeds will go to help PMS's very own Gabby, who is going through some very difficult times at the moment.

The main image being released is called Moody for Rock, and trust me... this image {rocks}!

This is my very first clear card, and I had so much fun with it! There are also a few sentiments (none that I did myself) to go along with this image if you like. All the information can be found here on the PMS blog.

Have a great day everyone!

Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge Week #10

This week Sparkle challenged us to make a blue and red card. I think I took the challenge pretty literally, cuz my card is ALL blue and red, lol!

If you want to play along with the challenge, you can find it right here. Thanks for stopping by!

A gift from the Tooth Fairy

For those who also read my private personal blog, you'll know that I've had some major dental problems lately. We were overwhelmed about finding a new dentist in such a large new city, but as luck would have it, we landed the perfect one. He's made after-hours house calls, worked me into his already overfilled schedule, called to check up on me in the evenings and on the weekends, and in general gone above and beyond the call of duty. On top of it all, he's a really nice guy and has cut us a huge deal on our bills since we're paying cash out-of-pocket.

So I wanted to make him a thank you card for being so wonderful, and what better image than the Tooth Fairy from Paper Makeup Stamps?

Yeah, yeah, I know it's kinda "girly" but seriously... I just had to use this image. If anyone knows of any tooth-related stamps out there that are more masculine, please let me know!! :)

Thanks for stopping by - I have some great posts scheduled this week so please come back!
