Weekly Scrapbook Challenge #4

This week my challenge for you is a simple one: use a monogram. It can be the first letter of the name of the person the layout is about, or the first letter of the subject, like "b" for birthday or "H" for horses. You could even use a number if you like. Here is my sample for the week:

I made my letter C by first punching a small circle out of corrugated cardboard, and then punching a larger circle around it. This gave me a perfect O, so I just cut a piece out of it and voila! A fun letter C.

This layout also doubles as part of my final assignment for Craft Warehouse. I have 2 tags and another layout to make - you'll see them over the course of the next week.

If you play along with the challenge this week please link it up here so we can all see your work. And then leave a comment so I know to come take a peek! Thanks for stopping by-

Baby blanket

In addition to playing with paper, I also like to play with fabric. I love to quilt, but I'll be the first to admit that I'm not very good! Still, it's something I enjoy. I prefer to make baby or lap quilts, like this one:

This is the baby quilt I made for my little niece for Christmas. I used minkee, flannel, and flannel-backed satin to give it a silky soft feel good quality. And of course, pink, brown and cream were the perfect colors for a little princess! I regret that I can offer no more pictures, as it is now in possession of said princess who lives across the country, haha.

I have 2 quilting projects this year and hope to start on them soon. One of them is a Christmas quilt using something you'll all be familiar with: the Figgy Pudding line by Basic Grey! (compliments of Moda)

But back to papercrafts...

Everyone said such nice things about my recipe tin yesterday that I've decided to give one away!! But not yet... I just had a giveaway, so we have to wait a little while. ;) I think I'll do it when I hit 25 followers... so be watching!

Dessert for a Year

This is one of the gifts I made for my birthday giveaway - it's a tin with 12 recipes (one per month) of my favorite desserts:

I made sure to save the files on my computer so I can make another one for myself, otherwise I wouldn't want to give it away!

A "sweet" little box

I wanted to make a little something special for a frog of mine (frogs are FRiends through blOGging) so I altered a little paper mache box for her:

I have a jar labeled "Emergency Chocolate" stashed away on the top shelf of my craft corner. I showed this to my husband and he said, "Um, it's kinda small, isn't it?" ROFL!!! He knows me too well, hehehe.

A Valentine Christmas

Blogger hasn't been uploading my posts as scheduled, and I don't know how long it will be until they get fixed so I apologize if this is once again going up late.

I guess I still have Valentines on the brain, because my Christmas card this week is pink and red, lol!

Sparkle issued a sketch challenge this week, but I chose to just make a regular Christmas card. I love this little skating Annie - she looks so much like my little girl!

I've been busy making gifts, so I'll have a few fun things posted this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Wishes mini book and a winner!

First off, I have a winner to announce! My little random.org widget on the bottom left column chose comment #4, which is Michelle VP!! Congrats Michelle, you deserve it! Please send me your email and I'll get the gift certificate over to you. :)

I've made several of these little wishbooks now, and I still need to make a few more. This is one I made for a secret swap:

I used the last of my Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday papers and I can't decide if I want to buy more or not, haha. I probably shouldn't - I really need copics more than I need paper!

You'll be seeing more altered items on here in the next few weeks. I played a little game for my birthday on my private personal blog and promised the players a handmade trinket from yours truly. Since my birthday was in January, I figured I better get moving, lol.

Thanks for stopping by - have a great day!

New Blog GIVEAWAY!!!

This post will remain at the top of my blog until Sunday, February 14th. Please sroll down for my regular daily posts.
Alright, it's time for a {giveaway}!! Seeing as how this new blog of mine is still pretty green, I don't have many followers and not many comments on my daily posts. This makes me sad. (although I am sooo appreciative of those who do stop by and leave me love!) So, to help improve my self-esteem and hopefully keep me posting on a regular basis, I want some help to spread the word and share the love. :)

Up for grabs is a $25 gift certificate to Paper Makeup Stamps!

If you aren't new to my blog, you already know that PMS is one of my favorite companies. So if you haven't had a chance to play with some of their fabulous images then here is the perfect opportunity! All you need to do to be entered in the giveaway is:
  • Become a follower of my blog
  • Post about this giveaway on your blog (it must be a post, not just a sidebar link) with a link to my blog
  • Leave me a comment on this post with a link to your blog post
And that's it! I will leave this post up all week and keep the giveaway open until Sunday, February 14th. I will draw a winner first thing Monday morning and announce it here on my blog. I won't go hunting for the winner... so you better be paying attention! ;)

Happy crafting everyone, and good luck!
