Weekly Scrapbook Challenge #5

This week my challenge for you emboss on your layout. You can use embossing powder on a stamped image, or an embossing folder on a piece of cardstock or patterned paper, or you can do like me and use pre-embossed cardstock:

I used product from K & Company's "Handmade" collection - very vintage and eclectic, it was fun to work with. This layout marks the very last portion of my very last assignment for Craft Warehouse. It has been a good 2 years on the Design Team. I've met some amazing and talented people, formed friendships to last throughout my life, stretched my limits and grown as an artist and crafter in ways that I never thought possible. It's a bittersweet goodbye, but I am ready to move on. :)

If you play long this week, please upload your creation here so that we can all see what you've done.

Baby Gift Tag

This is the second tag I made for my Craft Warehouse assignment. I thought it would look adorable tied to a baby gift.

Tomorrow you'll see the finally portion of my assignment, which is doubling as my Weekly Scrapbook Challenge. :) See you then!

Shabby Tag

My final assignment for Craft Warehouse arrived last week. The scrapbook layout from last week as well as the one for this week were part of the assignment. I also had to make 2 tags. Here is the first:

This is {so} not my usual style, lol! But it was fun to be random and eclectic and kind of shabby-vintage (which we were supposed to do). I'm honestly sad to see this one go!

I'll be posting my second tag tomorrow and then my layout on Saturday for my weekly challenge. I don't think I'll have a chance to get a Christmas card done this week, I have been so busy! So I'll try and get 2 done next week. :)

Altered tin and Magnets

I played a little game on my personal blog for my birthday and promised the players a handmade gift. My SIL is {not} into crafts and cards and things like that, but she likes "pretty" things, and I figured this set of magnets was both functional and cute:

Her favorite color is purple, so I used the Cottage Wall designer paper from Stampin' Up!. And see this little beauty?

Jen Evans sent me this {gorgeous} flower and pin (along with other goodies) for being a guest designer on her blog. She and her sister have an Etsy site with embellishments, jewelry, trinkets, kits, and such fun stuff! Due to a recent move they are taking a small break from it at the moment. However, Jen would be happy to fill custom orders by email at createoften@hotmail.com.

Hope y'all have a great day!

PMS remake

Paper Makeup Stamps is celebrating it's first birthday this month, and as part of the celebration, Katie is showcasing some of our first PMS cards... along with our remake of it. Here is my first PMS card:

Now, I want you to realize that a year ago (when this card was made) I had JUST discovered stamping and cardmaking (like, within a couple months, haha) and I didn't really know what I was doing, lol.

Remaking this card was {way} more difficult than I imagined! I've cased other people's work for challenges before, but when the inspiration is my own... I didn't even now where to start, haha. In any case, I managed this remake:

I love this Bittersweet paper by Basic Grey... I'm down to scraps now, *sniff*! Thanks for stopping by - have a great day!

Dragonfly Card Drive

I love to "create for a cause", so today I'm sharing a card I made for a very special reason:

Anything that has to do with children and parents tugs on my heartstrings, so when I heard about this event I knew I was going to participate. Taylored Expressions is having a Dragonfly Card Drive to support a local hospital that provides gifts and support for parents who have lost a child during delivery or in the early stages of life.

I plan to send as many cards as I possibly can, and I encourage anyone who wants to participate to read the details about the card drive right here. It isn't difficult or very detailed, and our handmade cards will help provide support to grieving families. I hope you will join me in this cause.

Take care-
